BSL activists marched through the town of Bradford among Bradford Deaf Forum and FDP to fight for BSL Act in September 2003. I picked best photographs.
Hey Ashton, been meaning to comment on your blog for a while! Great to read it :-D
Also fab to see those photos. I recognised that massive, long banner, as it was made after BSL was recognised in 2003. I hadn't realised that there were any marches to demand a BSL Act, apart from the London one in July 2003! Maybe I'm getting old?! Anyway, that's so cool. Wonder why there weren't any others, or did I miss something?
Sure jgj, I will put more photos for you later! Plus other photos of Recognise BSL now march in Bradford in 2001.
Jen, you are always welcome to comment.. I don't bite you! My teeth is not strong enough!
There were only 40 marchers includes 10 UCLAN students that time as other were confused over meaning of government recognised BSL as a language, not an official. Also we had 2 different marches in 2 years in same place. Should be Leeds or Sheffield something like that.
At the moment, Bradford Deaf Forum are focusing on Deaf education
Clark Kent is Deaf, wearing a fake hearing aids, pretending to be a 'unspoken' oral user, living in the Glorious Utopia, revealing his Deaf identity and beautiful BSL, rescuing Deaf children from medical role the villians.
